John Deere JD420 JD440 JD1010 Steering Clutch Installation


JD420/JD440/JD1010 STEERING CLUTCHES

The John Deere crawler models 420, 440 and 1010 use the same fiber discs and steel separator plates.

The JD440 crawlers with a serial number up thru 455632 used 7 fiber discs p/n M3293 and 6 steel discs p/n AM984, replaced by the M872 .
The JD440 crawlers serial number 455633 and up used 8 fiber discs M3293 and 8 steel discs AM984 replaced by M872.

The JD1010 crawlers used 8 fiber discs in all the serial number ranges. From serial number 1 thru 31000 quantity 8 steel plates, p/n M872 were used and above that serial number, quantity 7 steel plates were used.
